Winning with nutrition on and off the field

Winning with nutrition on and off the field

We know you’ll support your little stars all the way, but it’s not just about cheering them on from the sidelines – what you do off the field is just as important.

Choosing the right foods and drinks before, during and after exercise will help give them the energy and nutrients they need to grow strong brains and bodies, helping them win on and off the pitch.

Boosting Energy Levels

Active kids need calories, so make sure they eat a meal full of energy-rich breads, cereals, rice and pasta (combined with a little protein) a couple of hours beforehand. Snacks like muesli or granola bars are also good – and less likely to get squashed inside a sports bag!

Keeping them Fit and Strong

Calcium is very important for strong bones, and can be found in dairy products like milk, yogurt, and cheese. Other good sources include dark, green leafy vegetables and Calcium-fortified products like orange juice.

Fats for Fitness

We know too much fat isn’t healthy – but then neither is no fat at all. Fat is important for your body and provides much-needed energy for young active kids too. Meats, cheeses, nuts, oils, and butter are all good sources of fat, to name just a few.

Water, Water Everywhere

Running around, especially in hot weather, makes little bodies sweat! If you lose too much water this way you can become dehydrated, so encourage your little sports stars to drink plenty of water before, during and after exercise – not just when they’re thirsty!

Everyone Wins

Download our Scott’s Trophy Cabinet full of medals and trophies to reward your little ones. Win or lose – the greatest prizes of all are love, support and lots of encouragement from you.

It’s not always possible for them to eat the right balance of foods every day – but you can supplement their daily diet with a spoonful of Scott’s Emulsion to help reach the daily nutritional requirements.
